When I started reading this book (yes, I actually thought it would be good - silly me), I stopped at the drunken Ana/Jose scene. As a victim of rape - three times actually - I was abhorred that E.L. James thought it was okay to use such a thing as a way to further the plot. I was especially furious over the fact that she used it as a way to paint Christian as a "good guy" who rides in and saves Ana at the last moment. Kudos to you for being able to go through with this, as I could not. Thank you
To be honest, I almost gave up at the Ana/Jose scene too. There is so much wrong with what went on there that I can’t even begin to describe how much it bothered me.
Somehow, though, I made it. Good for me.
