l0stwooods asked: According to the dictionary sites, unconscious is a synonym to subconscious. So is this all a dream of Ana's or what's going on? I have a theory that she's actually unconscious from all that flushing/blushing that's going on and just passed out at the store, hit her head on something hard. And now she's having this erotic dream or whatever. I don't know, E.L. using 'subconscious' makes this book extremely confusing.

Nope. No no no no nope.

“Unconscious,” in the context of synonyms for the subconscious, refers to the unconscious part of the mind—the part we’re not conscious of. A noun. Ana is not unconscious. In that context, it would be an adjective.

Ana hasn’t fainted. E.L’s use of ‘subconscious’ doesn’t make the book confusing, just inaccurate. E.L. simply doesn’t know what a lot of words mean.
